With the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) in August 2022, the federal EV tax credit went through
a significant change.
While buyers can still claim up to $7,500, the qualifications for both the vehicle and buyer
are quite different.
For example, the new law requires a significant percentage of vehicle components to be sourced
domestically or from U.S. "free trade" partners.
